Amazon Ads 101: How to Structure Campaigns for Profit, Not Just Clicks

A lot of brands see ads as “let’s just boost some keywords and hope.” That’s a quick way to drain your budget.

Here’s a simple framework I use to make ads profitable:

1. 🎯 Separate Campaign Types

  • Branded keywords (protect your turf)
  • Non-branded (new customers)
  • Competitor (steal market share)
  • Product targeting (win on related listings)

2. 📊 Track the Right Metrics

Don’t obsess over impressions. Focus on ACoS, TACoS, and conversions. Profit > traffic.

3. 🛠️ Optimize in Cycles

Check weekly. Cut losers, double down on winners, and test constantly.

When ads are structured this way, they stop being a gamble and start being an engine.
